Good point. What I should have said, being in the rust belt, is always looking for a clean frame/body, decent interior and mechanically sound. I have 2 that are mechanically sound. One with bad/rusty body with immaculate interior ('79) and one from Florida with a very good frame/ fair body, crappy PO paint job, but the interior is shot (81).
Now you, on the other hand, have a plethora of old Mercedes to choose from in your immediate area
and are much more likely to find a combination of all three attributes. I need to just take a trip the the SF area to visit the folks, pick up a clean Benz there and have a nice cruise back
