I think it's unlikely as the roll bar doesn't come up in the headroom area. However, the advice in the owner's manual is to erect the roll bar whenever carrying rear seat passengers. I follow that advice for the very reason you cite, and it does not interfere with their comfort too much; certainly, a lot less than decapitation would!
