New lamps may help, but do not substitute higher wattage bulbs, as they produce more heat and can melt lamp holders and components. There may be an issue with the dimmer, does it vary the lighting up and down, and most important, does it goe all the way up?

...oh and the trunk light... that hasn't worked.. how do i check the light? which is it? i can't see it.. and i have to carry a flashlight in there to see what im grabbing... and it doesn't help that the flashlight is black.. quite embarassing at times. ideas?
Look for a burned-out lamp first. If the lamp is OK, you will need to find and check the switch. I'll suggest this is a job for daylight, but have a flashlight handy.

Best Regards,
Jim
