I tore into a few of my shelf enrichment compensators recently to kludge-together a replacement for one of my SLC’s.

Their whole point is to alter control P for warm up, and under load, and that’s all. If your car is working great without the vacuum feature, just go with that because there is a whole potential problem in adjusting the thing to properly control the control P that, if you are otherwise doing great right now, its just not worth messing with.
