I would just pull the panel down and check out the connector, it is possible it came loose from the trim. The connector is really a tight fit, I know when I hook mine up it is really tight and it is possible someone jerked it and broke it off the trim. It is likely the connector itself is ok but just not attached. When you remove the trim you can see it. If it is broken then you can find a part number on it and order a new one. Should be simple to replace just take your time and get all the pins in the same place. Good luck!
