It's hard to tell from the photo, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of those "cut and shut" jobs, which is pretty common in 3rd world countries. Two wrecked cars are cut in half and the two "good" halves are welded together. It may look OK on the outside, but the structural integrity is abysmal.
