Cool All is well but SUNROOF won't close.

Well all is well now with the 1986 300E that I purchased last week. It passed safety and clean air. Everything works on this car except the rear interior light and the sunroof won't close electricaly.
As previous posted when I first inspected the car the owner told me not to fully open the sunroof because it may not close. I did try the sunroff and it partialy opened and closed just fine. But when I was driving the car home the devil made me open the roof all the way and now it wont close electricaly (I close it manualy from the trunk). I lubricated the rails and also sprayed oil towards the back where I couldn't reach - but nothing worked.
POINT-- when i first started to crank the roof shut it took much effort and the plastick bolt cover cracked. Now after several manual closings it seems much looser to close. -- Is it possible that the rear interior light wiring somehow got snaged in the sunroof wires? ( put tester on the rear light and there is no power to it)
