I went to Bass Pro Shops and got myself a yellow container rather than using a red one.

I did this for one simple reason: to the average person (ie. non-dieselhead) anything in a red can looks like gas. Wouldn't want someone dumping 5 gallons of diesel in their gas tank!

If you use a red can, at least label it clearly as diesel. Maybe use a permanent marker that won't wash off if fuel runs down the side of the can.
