The "right" way to do this is with a microcontroller. Mine (and bergwerks') monitor the # of pulses in a given time duration at the speedometer (internally translatable to MPH), and energize a semiconductor or relay to close the solenoid. I am presently using a simple algorithm - about 3/4 of a second, and you have to stop for 1 second to reset - but It would be easy to "let go" at some predetermined # of miles per hour. I've used mine for about a year, and it is definitely worthwhile - a perceived increase of power.
