Goodmorning everyone...
Have installed a lot of engines over the years..but....I do have a question about induction noise .
On a lot of Asian cars/trucks the intake trunking usually has a "Chamber' built into the intake after the air filter....especially on AFC type air flow meter systems.....I am having trouble with a VW instal, a loud intake noise at 4000 rpm that sets up reverbarations in the body panels and is very loud.
The engine is in a large van body, so panel damping is minimal.
I am looking for intake designes that can reduce or eliminate this induction roar.
There is no 'Chamber' on this intake when fitted to the car from VW and it operates without noise....but in this van, it is intolerable at 4000 rpm.
I have damped every panel I can access but the noise is still too loud.
Any intake scientists here...?
