As you can see, I'm from La-La land. I grew up in Seattle, but just got fed up with the rain and bailed out after I graduated from UW. That was about a year before Seattle had a terrible recession circa 1969, and a sign saying "Will the last person to leave please turn out the lights" became a classic news story.

Now it seems a lot of Californians want to move up to the Pacific Northwest. Been there, done that! I wish I lived in a Red state, but most of them have lousy weather, no beaches, no mountains, and no fun, twisty roads.
