The vast majority vote along party lines, with little regard or cognizance of the other party’s worthiness beyond the supposition that “they” are wrong. Moreover many, perhaps even the majority prefer more of the same, no matter what that represents. The vote is typically decided by the whims of something like 5% to 10% of so-called swing voters. What is most telling is how dumbed down the party candidates behave, which is a true reflection of the party’s view of the public.
