Is this a normal diesel sound ?

Ok this is my first ever diesel so I'm not familier with what the normal sounds are. The sound in question is coming from the back somewhere and it sounds sort of like something rubing as if it were a car with worn breaks perhaps. But it has nothing to do with the brakes. I hear it after accelerating and letting up on the pedal. Not while breaking. It's just sort of a churning or rubbing sound I hear while coasting. It does not do it while accelerating or while sitting at idle

The car is an 85 300D by the way. I had a good mercedes mechanic go over everything and fix somethings and change fluids and what not. But just yesterday I finally got the car on the road due to waiting for an out of state title transfer to go through. So I am just now hearing the engine during normal driving. It runs great and feels great though. Just sounds I've never experienced with gas cars.
