when it runs out of fuel, is the clear primary filter full or empty? (a small bubble at the top is ok)

when it runs out of fuel are you usually going up a hill?

I believe its sucking a small amount of air from somewhere, takes some time for it to kill the engine.

Is any part of the fuel system leaking at present?
