I recently sold our 87 190e 2.3 and bought a 93 190e 2.6. The 87 was well into 200K miles and I did a ton of work on it including the dreaded heater core job (18 hours +/-).

It seems the 2.3 just run hotter and make sure the coolant is not the green type or count on at least a radiator. Since it has an electro-magetic cooling fan clutch, this is another item to check.

The 190's all have r12 AC refrigerant, make sure it blows cool.

Some say the 190e trans life is max 150k miles, I used Mobil Synthetic and even well into 200k never had a problem.
