I have an '86 190D and it is located behind the dash underneath the passenger air vent. If you take out the glovebox it is to the right by the vacuum switch valves inside a foam jacket...there's a pinky sized black tube coming out of it. FWIW, my motor was fried and melted, and to my surprise Radio Shack had a perfect replacement
