I was too impatient,didn't check the rear since the front has been a troublespot on one occasion.

It was the rear! Apparently,impossibly,[IMG][/IMG] a stone lodged itself between the tension spring? and the sensor wire,stripping off the insulation and grounding it against the spring,here's a pic below.

I will be more patient next time.
