Thanks Charles & GA 123, for your help. One old mount was about 1/4" compressed the other had oil on it and had disintegrated. I picked up new mounts at our local MB dealer, but they didn't have the engine shocks on-hand. The engine shocks and tranny mount will have to wait till another weekend. In addition to the mounts I installed new Bilstein shocks all around. The old '83 300 D (338,000 mi) drives and rides like new!
