I was having trouble with my 96 SL. The cruise control and blinker assembly are all one piece inside the steering column. Mine would turn off the cruise control when I hit a bump, I replaced my steering wheel and while in there I tightened that assembly. It gets loose over the years and don't overtighten it, it is plastic and can break. If you just got your car, be patient. It will take awhile to work the bugs out and if you need any help get in touch with a club member! good luck!
