Less Than a Mechanical Neophyte
OK, I wanna do this. My car goes in to the mechanics on Wednesday because of a CEL idiot light that has been going off intermittently for 6-9 months. Autozone said there's an EGR problem but that I should get MB to look at it. Either way, I'm going to get the IM cleaned while it's in the shop as its got 134K on the odo and is probably a mess.
I'm moderately mechanically inclined but I've never even changed my oil and am a bit nervous playing with my engine. How hard is this and what can I break if I screw it up? Obviously my mechanic won't do it but it looks like it would provide a significant performance increase which is very intriguing.
