Whilst some may consider us fortunate in Australia to have got W124s with the 5-speed auto, being a right-hand-drive market we missed out on the left-hand-drive only V8 models in the W124. A left-hand-drive car needs to be a 30 year old classic before it is allowed on the roads here. I wonder if the 500E will still be my dream car when it reaches 30 years of age? I wonder if there will even be any good original ones left by then or if they will be affordable?
