good shape
1982 240 D nice car. Bought it and then shortly afterward lost a bearing. Bought used replacement motor and installed, but have yet to get it started (my mechanical abilities are limited apparently - have not had it to MB mechanic yet). Body is straight. Minor rust - right rear quarter panel behind wheel. AC worked, Sunroof worked, CD player/changer, decent interior. This is the nicer of the two. 186,000 on odometer.
1980 300D - Currently converted to WVO. It runs, but I have had trouble with the harmonic balancer on the front of the motor. I am currently driving it with aux electric water pump, no AC, no ps, no alt. Plan is to install solar bat charger if I keep the car. It is a little precarious as far as daily driver...BUT it is my "inspector gadget car" and runs good. Body is straight, minor rust. Was repainted at some point by po. Has 133,800 miles on odometer. Dealer told me they did major engine work on it before it was traded in. I have driven it 150 miles since last work done. Like I said it runs, but it will require attention, or good as parts car. It has damage to crank is why balancer has been such an issue. Hope this helps
