Just to help out those who will respond, 1993 300E's have M104 engines, not the usual 3.0 liter M103 found in 1986-1992 300E's.
Your engine is either a 3.2 liter M104 (if badged as 300E), or a 2.8 liter M104 engine (if badged as 300E 2.8).
1993 was an odd year in the U.S., as the engine changed, but not the badge.
In the rest of the world, there was no confusion, as these were either badged as 320E or 280E.
