Excellent advice about getting the pump from MB. What you get from the dealer is usually, maybe always, a rebuilt unit and they are just fine. Last one I bought for my 240D was under $40. The aftermarket pumps are known to cause overheating issues because the impellers don't have the same clearance as on the OEM ones.
