I picked up a wood gearshift knob for my "new" 1998 E320. It comes in the mail tomorrow. what is the procedure for swapping the shift knob?

In my old 1999 Seville SLS all you did was pull up on the shift knob and out it came. Real easy (actually, too easy, I always worried about accidentally "yanking" the shift knob out during hard driving ).

But I am not sure how it is done in the Benz.
