I did this once upon a time. Hopefully I didn't forget anything. It's relatively easy provided you have the right tools. You need to remove the two allen nuts on the back of the steering wheel, that will free up the air bag. Disconnect the connectors, remove the large nut securing the steering wheel to the steering column, voila!
