Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find one of these for much less than $2200?

I've owned this car for 4 1/2 years and in that period, have put over $11,000 into keeping it running. I love it when it runs, but that's only about 75% of the time.
Like someone said, go to car-parts.com. I believe this is one of the "boxes" that reside in the computer storage box. I once had to buy a new module (not ignition though). I bought mine for about $200. I'm sure you can find a used one for $500 or less if you search.

Tell us what's the part number is?
