Yep, BTDT.

It happened to me on an old International Scout.

Took the old filter off, didn't notice that the old gasket stuck. Put the new filter on. Started her up...... oiled everything in a 20 foot radius.

Then had to crawl under the truck with oil dripping off of everything and fix it.
