Yesterday I checked the front wheel bearings. The left one had some play. I replaced both of them. When doings so, I saw some burn marks on the left one. The vibrations are now reduced to a level where they do not bother me much any more (let's see for how long ;-).
I also replaced front rotors, pads, the drag link and idler arm bushing. They were worn but not too much. Seems they have been replaced before.
