Arthur,

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention the battery lost its umph during its 3 month nap. I did overnight recharge, but it hasn't come back to its previous start power. It takes about 3 cycles to start. However, non running volts @ 12.38 and running @ 14.12. Could battery's present state be affecting the codes or are other problems affecting the startup?

Ran codes again and referenced mercedesshop doc ...107630
Base code 26 Upshift delay switch
Pin 8 code 8 = Idle speed control
Pin 14 codes 2 = EA/CC/ISC or etc, 3 = Right EA/CC/ISC, 5 = Stop lamp Switch, 14 = Closed throttle position switch

Sounds like Pin 14 is beyond my DIY skills. Your best guess, could it be one or many items needing replacement? Which one(s)?

Does engine temp (hot vs cold) affect code testing?

Other than Base, Pin 8 and 14, are other Pins testable with your device?
Can the CS1000 doc be used as cross reference for some pins?

Thanks
Bob
PS I used a Radio Shack 275-1566a Momentary switch. It has less parts (no seperable base to disconnect) than 275-1556 switch.
