I purchased a 1990 500SL just over a year ago with 160,000 km on it and did an oil change at that time with Quaker State HDX 15W40 as that is the oil the previous MB dealer had used for several changes. The oil performed well as I went 10,000 km with the oil not even going down on the stick. I am ready for another change but after checking the Quaker State web site it looks like HDX is designed for diesel engines. Does anyone else use this brand in MB gasoline engines? Am I at risk of engine damage? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks
