Fan clutch problem solved

Just thought I would relay the info on what caused my fan clutch to stop working so that others with the same year 190e as mine (85) can maybe fix their own car by this. Locate the red three prong sensor that is on top of the engine in the very front position. Pull the sensor wire that has a dual female connector on it and with two alligator clips or a jumper wire connect the two connectors together. Start the engine and if the sensor was faulty, the fan should turn on to engine speed. It seems that this is the most probable cause of this and is a very easy test to find out the problem. If the fan still does not come on, the magnetic clutch would be the next to check.
