thanks guys

thanks guys i was starting to feel like an idiot...

i used the small drilled hole and its in time...

here is the way you can check... on your crank there is a metal slot
that will stick straight up...stick something in your #1 spark plug hole
and watch it move up and down until you get the top..

then rotate your cam shaft until the rocker arm is loose... that means both
valves are closed. and you will find that there is a small drilled hole that lines up with the notch.....


then put it back together and you will see that the timing mark will be on zero where the sensor is.... and when you put the rotor back on it will align with the #1 spark plug conector on the distributor....
