yes, and there is also a valvoline 15/40 diesel rated. as you say 3000miles or
3 months changes will ensure a long life. i have done over 40 oil changes on my engine and it uses very little if any oil between changes. as someone here is famous to say ''change oil hot and change oil often"
also, since the OP is in richmond he doesn't have to worry too much about super frigid winter temperatures where different oil may ease cold startups.
