If you use a lifetime brake pad you will need to watch your rotors very carefully. It's a trade-off; brake pads last longer, rotors wear out faster. I used to use pagid pads, which are very soft and produced very little (almost nil) rotor wear. However, they left so much brake dust on my front wheels that I started to dread washing my car and wheels just to see the front wheels black and nasty three days later. I switched to textar, yellow box, and have been very happy with the decrease in brake dust. I can't feel any difference in performance. Rotor wear??? It's too early to measure, but from what I've heard, there's little difference between pagid (American oem) and textar (European oem).
