Anyhow, I said that because not only is it a Bad Idea to vent refrigerant out into the air, it's also quite possible to injure yourself with it. If you have the refrigerant recovered by a shop, you will likely be able to handle the r+r part yourself. First, what year and model are we talking about? Is it a 560 SEL like the original posters? And, to the original poster, it's possible for any number of things to make noise when the compressor is engaged, but if the compressor itself is rattling, its days are numbered. Consider replacing it before it blows crap all through the A/C system.
