I don't know for sure BUT it sounds like fuel.
I just wholesaled my SL for body reasons and have: Brand new fuel pump (Bosch in box), the complete throttle body assembly w/ a NEW fuel distributer, a brand new exhaust system for it, and Full (engine & body) factory shop manuals.
