240DieselDog. The 300TD is quite a bit different from a 240D in its operation.

My 82 300TD has 2, one on each side. So replace them if they are worn and it will dampen some of the vibration.

You should have 2 engine mount assemblies that include the shock mount. If your diesel does not have 2 dampers your production model (vin #) may have been before the 2 shocks were installed When the cutoff for 1 or 2 shocks was done, I don't know. So if you dont' have the mount for it, your production model may be prior to the change.
