Odometer

Dan,

When the odometer on my 90 300E died @ 179K mi., I searched around and noticed quite a few posts on how to do repair to get odometer working again ... but came across a post from one of the more knowledgeable members who suggested that the home remedy just bought you time and that you were eventually going to have to have a pro R&R if you really want problem fixed. I am committed to keeping my Benz running, so I bit the bullet and sent odo out for repair. There are services online (on e-bay, I think) that will do it for @ $100. I ended up sending mine to Steve Brotherton's shop in Florida. (Steve is member here and his brother, Scott, R&Rs odos. Charge was slightly higher, but I am pleased with work they did and my odo is doing fine at around 186K now.
