Yes, that's why I'm a fan of "Deadwood". While some have blasted the "cuss-up a blue streak" lingo, David Milch, its creator, and a writer I admire, did his research. He poured over his share of period histories (not the dime store kind), letters and found that in 1870s Dakota terriroty there indeed was a bent toward the profane.
