And what's with the flags on houses? In my neighborhood there are a few houses that fly the american flag 365 days a year. Just like with those ribbons, I think the feeling gets diluted if not lost. It's like having a christmas tree all year.

I noticed most people who put the "support our troops" ribbons on their cars are SUV and pickup truck owners. Makes me wonder if they really care about the individual soldiers and their families. Or could it be that they're nothing but republican warmongers who mostly care about low gas prices so they can continue driving their gas guzzlers? No that can't be.
