I assume your 82 is like my 83, the oil separator is not built into the air filter housing, it is a separate "canister" in front of the air filter. Just follow the vent line from the top of the valve cover, just behind the oil cap. This design does not result in the air filter getting covered in oil if you have some blow-by.
