Timing on that engine is done by the flywheel & the ignition module, so moving the distributor WON'T cahnge the timing!

HOWEVER you must have the distributor lined up correctly at TDC of the ignition system may CROSSFIRE at higher RPM's.

The centerline of the rotor MUST line-up with the punch line on the distributor housing at TDC.
