i never liked the 3m stuff for this. hit and miss and a pain.
we use contact cement. do a dry run. put some chalk marks to help align it.
then use the cement and align yer marks and set it and forget it.
the old insulation already had notches to align things with but not sure on yours. if the 3m is not used properly the insulation will fall off at sometime.
