doesnt offer a 300 e handbook for that era but they do offer a 190 and i think you will find most things are the same or very similar on the 190 .
i would think you have the basis to demand your money back. did you pay a price indicative of a working ac system? if so that is a major expense and will reflect on the price very negatively if it doesnt work.

i would be pissed too!
