I saw LOTS of abandoned dogs standing on rooftops. We tried coaxing a few into the boat but they were too terrified and would probably have bitten us in fear. They were beginning to die of exposure and starvation.

People first. Then human bodies. Then animals. I understand they began recovering bodies today. What an absolutely horrible, ghastly chore. I don't think I could do it. There was plenty of opportunity.
