Just returned to the Mercedes crowd... had a 1977 240D for 10 years.. 2nd owner. The 240 had 340,000 miles on it when I gave it to my son in 1996.

Just purchased a 1996 S420 - black on black(leather) very nice ride. Perfect body and interior.

I have a cooling problem that I almost immediately determined the cause of -- from my 240 experiences.. the coolant expansion tank has a crack just under the threaded area for the coolant cap.... I'm leaving I nice pool of coolant everywhere the car is parked.

My 240 experience was in Little Rock.. I now live in north Alabama and don't have a clue as to 1) a good place to buy parts (I can replace the coolant tank) and 2) a good MB mechanic in the area.

Any help from ya'll would be greatly appreciated.
