Try Fugro-Chance and C&C Technologies. Both outfits are crying-out for marine surveyors worldwide.
If you want to retail your skill set, learn GIS (for ex. ArcMap, Microstation, Socet) and do contract work. There is plenty of work if you're willing to move.

Behold, the ignorance of a member! I didn't know what a marine surveyor did. I thought they did bathymetry, not seagoing vessel analysis!

OTOH, the Microstation skill set and/or Autocad would get you into something new and challenging working with design?
