but my guess is that it will fit but the governor that controls what rpm it shifts at will be off. had this experience in using a 123 diesel tranny on a 123 280e. tranny works fine, shifts at low rpm for a gasser because of the low red line on the diesel car it came off. you would be closer in your swap but i bet the v8 tranny will shift about 750 to 1000 rpm lower. check your red lines for the engines.
