What were the circumstances? I have seen frat boys pull off the "how much for your daughters?" stunt (after watching Blues Brothers, no doubt), but it was apprent they were just being jacka$$es.
If the circumstances here were more serious, i.e. it was apprent he was in no way joking, that is plain scary.
